On the second day Jagi and I decided to go for a hike. We just left our guest hosue and started walking into the jungle. On our way back we found a nice bench to take a break. We were siting on someone's front portch. An Indian Malay man came out of his house. Dass first noticed our massive misquito bites and gave us an eucalyptus spray. After a little chat he invited us to stay at his house.
At first we were a little hesatint about staying in this strangers house but he showed us that he had a little house behind his that he rented.
It was perfect for us. Dass was a wonderful host. He made us wonderful Indian dinners everynight. His daughter was around our age and worked at one of the hotels in town. Dass taught us about the history and religion in Malaysia.
We have seen some interesting animals in the highlands.
The worlds biggest butterfly at an Internet cafe:
One night Jalena was reading in bed while I was doig yoga downstairs. I came upstairs and saw a bat flying around the room. Jagi claimed she heard noises but felt safe because she was in the 'princess mosquito net'. I chased the bat out of the room.
The house was a 15 min walk into town. And sat right next to a river and a waterfall in the jungle.
The path leading away from the house.
Pictures from around the yard.
Dass had a Bear dog named Jasper.
Stay tuned for more adventure/lazy beach bums as we head to the Perhentian islands.
