I just wanted to give a shout out to the best bananas iv had in my life!
Before my travels in Asia I lived a sheltered banana life. For 21 years I thought there was one type of banana; that long yellow banana that's imported from somewhere down south.
My life changed now that iv discovered many different types of bananas. And different types are better for different things (ie how you prepare them). I will give a few examples:
In Lao I learned that the small fat-ish ones are best for fryig. While the small skinny ones are best to cut up and put in or on some something because they are so sweet. And the everyday bananas were there skinny long ones because they were not too sweet and perfect for a good snack.
In Thailand my favorite was the long ones when they turned brown. These were best brown because they became the perfect texture. At New land Farm we had the best bananas they were small and fat but unlike Lao these ones were sweet!
Although my banana experiences have been amazing the past six months, no banana can beat the bananas I consumed at Bako national park in Borneo. These were long, fat-ish and green when ready. They were the perfect combination of sweet but not overly sweet and the best texture. I would bearly bite into one and it would melt in my mouth!
Can't really tell but these bananas are hudge!!
